A massacre in the city of Nawa in the countryside of Daraa
On Tuesday evening, October 15 2013, the first day of Eid al-Adha, a group of three families, decided to return to spend this holiday in their city of Nawa, which was then besieged by the regime forces for several months. The people took the only agricultural road leading to the city, which is between Tal Al-Jabiya and Tal Al-Jomou`, which is the closest to the Jomou’ hill in an area called Horsh Al-Jubeila. This road is considered the only outlet for the people of the city to get in and out, to bring in military supplies, and evacuate the wounded. This Rout was exposing to constant fire and sniping by the regime forces stationed in Tel Jamou’, which also planted the area with dozens of mines, and it was recorded before this incident a mine exploded in one of the cars supplying fuel to the bakeries and hospitals. In this area, there were reports of killings and disappearances of civilians, as the regime forces sometimes sneaked the road to arrest civilians, and until today their fate is unknown.
